Rocky was born in Laredo, TX and raised in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, MX.  He is the son of Joan Miller (+) and Ernest M. Bruni Jr.  He is married to Society of Martha Washington member, Patricia Cecilia Castillon.  They have three children, Sarah, Ernest and Catherine and four grandchildren.  He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Laredo, TX and attended Austin College in Sherman, TX.

Many of his family members have participated and have had active roles in the Society of Martha Washington.  Rocky was an escort in 1972, his daughters were presented in 2000 and 2006 respectively and his son was a page in 1998 and an escort 2002.  Rocky’s maternal grandmother, Gwendolen Carr Miller (+), was the President of the Society of Martha Washington in 1973 and his paternal grandmother, Lilia Longoria Bruni (+), portrayed Martha Washington in 1958.  His father, Ernest M. (Buddy) Bruni Jr., and step-mother, Linda Bruni, portrayed George and Martha Washington in 1995.

Rocky is currently a Director and the Vice Chairman of the Webb County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Chairman of the USDA Farm Service Agency’s County Committee.  He is also a Board member of the Laredo Country Club, and previously served as a Director of the Border Olympics (Golf) and of the Boys and Girls Club of Laredo.  Rocky was also a founding volunteer of the Jalapeno Festival.

Rocky is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker.  He was President of the Laredo U.S. Customs Brokerage Association and a Director at the Laredo Development Foundation.  Today much of his time is spent is managing his ranch and playing golf.
