Linda Lopez Howland

will portray our nation’s first lady at the 2017 Society of Martha Washington Pageant and Ball in February. A native Laredoan, she has been a member of the Society of Martha Washington since 1993. Mrs. Howland’s involvement with the organization is deeply rooted in her family history. Her mother, Consuelo F. Lopez has been a member of the Society for many years. Her sister, Cristina Lopez Aldrete, was presented in 1983 and numerous nieces were presented as debutantes. Both her children have participated in the Society as well. Her son, Andrew Scott Howland, served as a page in 2003 and as an escort in 2008 and her daughter, Alexandra Cecilia Howland, was presented by the Society in 2011. Over the years Mrs. Howland has served on various committees and in numerous board positions. She is a former board member of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce and has a long-standing association with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Laredo-Webb- County, having held the presidency and other board positions. Currently, Mrs. Howland serves as President of the Laredo Theatre Guild International.
