The Washington’s Birthday Celebration Association (WBCA) Liberty Run Sponsored by The Outlet Shoppes at Laredo took place on Saturday, February 22 in front of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce.
Clear skies and pleasant weather greeted 173 participants of all ages at WBCA Liberty Run Sponsored by The Outlet Shoppes at Laredo which is a two mile run that runs along the WBCA parade route, starting at the grand stands and finishing at The Outlet Shoppes at Laredo.
The top honors for overall male and female went to Walter Suarez, with a time of 9:49 and Nora Jimenez Rocha with a time of 11:21. Overall winners received $200 cash prize and a goodie bag courtesy of The Outlet Shoppes at Laredo.

The Washington’s Birthday Celebration, founded in 1898, is the largest Celebration of its kind in the United States.
Throughout the years, the Celebration has grown to be over a month long and consists of parades, dazzling pageants, fireworks, a carnival, an air show, a sizzling jalapeño festival and much more. Combined, WBCA events attract nearly 500,000 residents and visitors, and yearly contributes an estimated $14 million to the local economy.
