COUNTDOWN TO THE 125th CELEBRATION

President’s Letter

As President of the 126th Washington’s Birthday Celebration Association, it is both an honor and a privilege to welcome you to this year’s festivities. The Washington’s Birthday Celebration is the oldest in the United States, honoring the first president of our great country, George Washington. Done with international flair, the WBCA, the City of Laredo and Webb County host a party of more than 30 events in 38 days! An incredible air show, a carnival with exhilarating rides, lavish pageants depicting our country’s early history, the one and only award-winning two-day Jalapeño Festival, one of the country’s truly “international” parades, and a beautiful fireworks display are but a few of the events you can enjoy.

WBCA is an organization made up of hard-working volunteers that have dedicated their time and energy to improving the quality of life for the people of Laredo and the surrounding communities. So, whether you are a long-time veteran of the celebration or are new to our city and the Washington’s Birthday Celebration, I invite you to come out and enjoy the 126th year of this award-winning festival, done Laredo Style!

Save the dates January 25 – March 2, 2024, and make plans to join us as we work to make the 126th Celebration bigger and better than ever! I hope to see you at all the upcoming festivities.

Sincerely,

Rochelle V. Gonzalez
2023-2024 President
